Does size matter?

In our readings from Connectome by Sebstian Seung, he discusses brain size and the impact it has on our lives. The book talks about how throughout history the size of ones brain has been associated with intelligence, schizophrenia, and even autism. He also stresses that correlation does not always mean causation. For example, children with autism tend to have a larger brain size than average but not all children with larger brains have autism. There are other factors that play a part, which leads me to this link i posted. Kayt Sukel looks at what brain size says about a creatures mental abilities. Throughout the article, she compares the brains of other animals and notes that it is not just size but complexity and neural connections that tie into what we consider intelligence. Check it out!
